What does AI GEO do to change traditional SEO ?
AI powered GEO techniques improve traditional SEO by adding targeting based on place and time. AI GEO tools don't simply optimize for keywords; they also look at user behavior, geographical data, and search intent to give you more relevant and personalised results. This helps businesses reach the appropriate people at the right time, boosts local awareness, and gets people more involved.
To be visible online in a digital world that is always changing, you need to keep ahead of the curve. Google is still the best search engine, bringing in billions of visitors and conversions every day. But the future of search goes well beyond the search box.
The Growth of AI Search
ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google Gemini are some of the new AI-powered search engines that are changing the way people find information, products, and services. These platforms let you have smart, conversational searches, which means you don't need traditional search result pages as much.
- By the end of 2025, it is expected that AI search will have 1 billion users each month.
- Since 2023, the number of search queries on AI platforms has gone up by 494%
- People are starting to ask AI for product recommendations, service providers, and brand information instead of going through Google.
This huge change marks the start of a new era of digital discovery, in which your brand must not only show up on Google but also in responses provided by AI.
What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation)?
GEO is the next step in SEO. It focusses on making your content better for AI search engines and chat-based platforms.
GEO makes sure that your brand shows up in AI-generated answers, summaries, and recommendations, not only in search engines like Google or Bing.
This means:
- Putting your material into formats that AI can read (FAQ, organised data, clear meanings)
- Making material that has a lot of context and sounds like a discussion that AIs like
- Using stuff that AI engines show that is relevant and trustworthy
- Making sure that search engines and AI platforms can see you on more than one platform
